Students may bring their own Chromebook (BYOD), but it must be enrolled by Tech. Once enrolled by the District, the Chromebook can be managed like a District-owned device and will be subject to the same updates, security protections, network configurations, restrictions, and web filtering.
When the student leaves the District through graduation or transfer, the parent can contact the school to request that the device be removed from District enrollment. Tech can then remove it remotely. The device will reset and automatically unenroll, making it available for personal use again.
To enroll the device, the student or parent must bring it to the Division Office. The enrollment process will erase the device, and the student will be able to use it only with their @prstudent.ca Google account while enrolled. There is a one-time, non-refundable $50 enrollment fee; however, the student will not need to pay the usual annual technology fee.
Only Chromebooks are supports are supported at this time. We cannot support BOYD for MacBooks or WIndows Laptops.
